The Sudanese Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (SSCI&A) organized its annual guest lecture on Thursday 21 January 2016. This was presented by Dr Richard Herriot, FRCP (Glasgow), FRCP (Edin), FRCPATH, consultant immunologist at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Dr Herriot was in a 3 day visit to Khartoum as an external examiner for the Final Clinical Immunology MD for the year 2015/2016. This is a 4-year programme offered by the Sudan Medical Specialization Board (SMSB), Clinical Immunology Council (CIC).
He gave an elegant and thoughtful talk about Autoimmunity in Primary Immunodeficiency. The talk was followed by dinner and the event was done in collaboration with the SMSB. The event attracted about 80 doctors from different specialities and at different levels of their training including the newly graduated clinical immunologists.

In last December, in Casablanca (Morocco), a new scientific society for primary immunodeficiencies was founded: the Arabic society for Primary Immunodeficiencies (ARAPID). Its first congress, held in Casablanca, jointly with the 8th Annual Congress of the Moroccan Society for Primary Immunodeficiencies, was attended by more than 250 delegates coming from 13 countries of the Arab world. The main language was Arabic. Program is available here.
Since September 2015, the Moroccan Society for Primary immunodeficiencies (MSPID) organizes a course on Primary immunodeficiencies: From Basic Immunology to Clinical presentation. This course comprises 10 lessons: a general introduction to immune response and basis of each PID category and their clinical presentation. Attendants for this year are the core members of MSPID, to evaluate the course content.
ASID organized its 4th congress in Algiers in May. We were happy that a lot of our members could show up and to see the great progress that performed the Algerian in diagnosing the PID patients.

Uganda, April 24, 2015:
Fifty-six delegates attended this event, supported by the World PI Week and the Jeffrey Modell Foundation (WinGrant). The ASID trainer was Dr James Chipeta (Zambia).

9th A-Project, April 28th, Casablanca, Morocco

Besides, three A-projects (one in French, one in English and one for Biologists) have been scheduled during the IVth ASID Congress.
The celebrations of the world PI week in Cairo included, on the 28th of April, a scientific workshop for general practitioners and pediatricians at Children's hospital- Ain Shams university to increase awareness and promote PID diagnosis.

In the frame of the World PI Week, on 11th June 2015, the Libyan team in Benghazi organized a Lecture on Clinical immunology and Primary Immunodeficiencies.

Our members in South Africa don’t rest and organized a PID School in Port Elisabeth, this September, in margin of the ALLSA Congress.

The Moroccan Society for Immunodeficiency organized for the first time a cursus in 5 modules on Basic Immunology supporting clinical features in PID. The first module was animated by Dr Babacar Mbengue (Senegal) who presented the immune system and the infectious response, Pr Jalila El Bakkouri who presented humoral-mediated immunity and Pr Ahmed Aziz Bousfiha who presented clinical features of predominantly antibody deficiencies.
