Shereen Reda is the head of the Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology Unit (2018-present), Children’s Hospital of Ain Shams University (Center of Excellence). In 2000, she spent a short-term fellowship in Pediatric Immunology at the Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK.
Prof. Reda is the vice president of the Egyptian Society of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology (ESPAI), Co-editor of the Egyptian Journal of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology and Chief-editor of E-letter of the ASID.
She is a Co-founder and vice president of the Arab Association of primary immunodeficiency (ARAPID) (2015- present), Executive Director of Primary Immunodeficiency Registry at Children’s Hospital, Ain Shams University (2004- Present), member of the steering committee of the World Primary Immunodeficiency Week (www.WPIW.org) and member of the European society for immunodeficiency (ESID) (2000-present).
Prof. Reda has 72 publications in international and local periodicals and has co-supervised 108 Masters’ and Doctorate theses in pediatrics and pediatric allergy/immunology. She participated as speaker or chairperson in 75 international, regional, and local congresses and webinars in allergy/immunodeficiency in pediatrics. In 2017, she won, with co-authors, the Elsevier Atlas Award for featured article published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Prof. Reda is responsible for establishing the teaching curriculum of immunodeficiency and since 2004, she regularly lectures primary immunodeficiency to both undergraduates and post graduates at the Pediatric department, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams university.
