Dr. Marybeth Cherono Maritim (MBChB, MMED (Internal Medicine), DTM&H (Gorgas), FCP (ECSA) Certificate in Travel Health™) is a board certified and experienced Consultant Physician and Infectious Disease/ Tropical and Travel Medicine Specialist at University of Nairobi/ Kenyatta National Hospital and Mbagathi County Hospital.  She is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Clinical Medicine and Therapeutics, University of Nairobi School of Medicine.

Dr. Maritim has over 14 years clinical experience in the case management of tuberculosis, malaria, HIV, other infectious diseases and more recently COVID-19.  She has trained and supervised several postgraduate and undergraduate students in her area of expertise.  She has been involved in development of various national treatment guidelines.  She is currently serving in several national advisory and technical committees within the Ministry of Health.  These include the NASCOP HIV Guideline Review Committee, the COVID-19 case management committee within the National COVID-19 Technical Taskforce, the Kenya National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (KENITAG) and the Kenya National Vaccine Safety Advisory Committee (NVSAC).
