Brigitte is currently a bioinformatician at the South African Medical Research Council. She holds a PhD from Stellenbosch University and is also Crick African Network Fellow working on the discovery of novel disease-associated variants in patients with inborn errors of immunity (IEIs). Her project focuses on the use of next generation sequencing in young children with a suspected IEI as well as individuals who have severe, persistent, unusual and recurrent episodes of TB. She has authored and co-authored a number of manuscripts on IEIs in South Africa and is involved in the translation of research results.
